Whether you have an unfinished space with tons of potential or an outdated bathroom ready to meet the 21st century, if it’s time for a home bathroom project, we have the scoop on the latest trends for your 2020 renovation.
This bathroom design from Rock Solid’s Stonewood Bath Cabinetry is just what we needed for our latest Create This Look. Rock Solid is a Canadian distributor (right in Barrie, ON!), that focuses on providing high-quality cabinets, vanity tops, accessories, and hardware. Not only are they up with the latest trends, but we love the flexibility of style and colour they offer.
What’s Out. Time to Make Way for the New.
Dark, Red Wood Tones
From walls to furniture to flooring, wood has always been a popular choice. Darker, reddish, or orange-toned wood varieties, especially for floors and cabinetry, can make a room feel smaller and heavier. When updating your design, look for light or medium-toned wood. In this Create This Look, we chose The Cove (in Macarro 2140) collection by Beaulieu. Since it’s an engineered luxury vinyl, it’s 100% waterproof and offers greater temperature and sound insulation, which is perfect for the bathroom.
Lacquered Cabinets
Although lacquered cabinets have been popular for many years, matte finishes are making a big comeback.
Chrome
Too much chrome, like lacquered cabinets, is just too much shine. Besides being on trend, matte or brushed fixtures look nicer and are easier to clean. This look from Rock Solid features brushed fixtures, like this Z-lite Delaney wall sconce and sink faucet from Moen.

What’s In. Safe Bets for Timeless Looks.
Natural Textures
Marble and stone are natural textures that are timeless, whether applied in tiles or slabs; it’s a staple no matter its shape. The Rock Solid vanity countertop featured here (in Dover White quartz) is a perfect example of the soft, neutral colouring and texture that is both popular and timeless. Even the simple, white undermount sink lends to the natural, airy feel of the space.
Neutral Colours
Neutral and light-toned colours continue to trend in home design. You don’t have to worry about updating bold colours that you become bored of, or vibrant patterns that lose their visual appeal. Going with neutral tones or light colours allows your bathroom’s look to remain the same for quite some time.
Clean Design
Simple, clean lines paired with cool greys and crisp whites create a clean, polished look. Perhaps this is why we love this Create This Look by Rock Solid so much. The Stonewood Bellarose cabinets in white feature soft, clean lines that gives the timeless look we’re searching for.
